Non-destructive testing (NDT)
Another service we offer lies in the area of non-destructive testing (NDT). We have got approval by a number of Classifications Societies to carry out ultrasonic wall thickness measurements. Further, our testers are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9712 for the test methods VT, UT, MT, PT and LT (up to step 3).
Finally, we have certified specialists and the equipment to carry out gas-free measurements in tanks and bunkers.
Class renewal and related works
When it comes to periodical special surveys demanded by the classification societies the duration of dry docking is of extreme importance, since the off-hire period should be as short as possible. We at EMDEN DOCKYARD are always aware of this demand. Therefore, we have adjusted our processes accordingly, including working on weekends.
Surveys
Assessing the technical condition of a vessel, the scope of work needed for a refit or the extent of damages that need to be repaired after an incident gives essential information to owners in their decision making process. Our technical team can carry out surveys at our yard or on location to facilitate this process.
