Certification of the management system according to the latest ISO standards
January 25, 2017
Emden Dockyard is one of the very first repair dockyards operating a management system that has been certified according to the new set of standards ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Both standards together form an Integrated Management System which is not just an updated version of the previous issue. Actually, it is rather a complete new approach focusing very much on process orientation. This is accompanied with the consequent and systematic evaluation of risks and chances for every strategic decision that has to be made.
However, there are also a few features that were skipped in the new integrated management system. One of those is the old-fashioned, paper-based QM manual. The new standards reflect what is about to become reality in modern companies, i. e. the paperless office. Instead, smart solutions with highly flexible IT tools are introduced. We at Emden Dockyard sensed this movement already three years ago when we decided to acquire a future-oriented web-based IT system called “Q.wiki” developed by firm Modell Aachen GmbH. This system acts now as the backbone of our integrated management system.
The goal of all efforts is the continuous improvement of all processes in order to increase the quality of our services and products, the satisfaction of the client and the development of our Company.
